Concrete Crib Retaining Wall
Our concrete crib retaining wall can be used as a retaining wall to embankments, cuttings and other earth-retaining situations such as at the side of motorways. These units can form a temporary or a permanent retaining wall which are locked together and filled with a suitable material.
The finished wall consists of a series of interlocking precast concrete units built up, in-filled and back-filled, with a suitable free draining, granular fill material to form a gravity retaining wall structure. The resultant structure is an open faced wall, which can then be planted with vegetation, helping to blend the wall into the environment
Crib walling can be installed using an off-loader lorry or alternatively, the contractor can easily complete the retaining wall installation using a site excavator.
Units are designed to BS 8110:1997. Standard units are 4000mm long, with 2700mm and 1300mm units available for wall ends.
